My name is Scott Decker and I’m an avid lover of life, adventure, and enjoy seeking opportunities to build and create things that can support that journey. I’m a geophysicist by education but my professional experience centers around medical and emergency response markets. My business MERET USA LLC provides gear to heroic first responders that serve in our local community, special government agencies, and municipalities around the world. Our mission is to assist the exceptional perform the extraordinary.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Extremely blessed to have a badass wife and three amazing children; 1 daughter and 2 boys.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I design and create products that assist first responders in life saving events. I’m very fortunate to work with such heroic men and women who respond to the call and depend on our products when seconds matter.

I’ve been a resident in Newport for over 20 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My business partner Greg Hayward. He inspires me to grow professionally and enjoy the fun along the way.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Never stop pushing. You can relax when you get there.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
We’d take sailing trip through the Caribbean, exploring the islands and waters.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

A small town sense of community in a bustling beach town.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
The next adventure. But I’m focused on enjoying the present.

I’m pretty high energy but inside I’m a total stoic.
