Newport Beach is so much more than the sparkling sea, gorgeous bay, and near perfect weather. It is also a place where people from all walks of life come together to work and play and where flip flops are part of our dress code. The city stretches from Newport Coast and Crystal Cove at the south end, through Corona del Mar, past Fashion Island and Mariner’s Mile, right on to West Newport at the north end. From the coast we reach up from the Peninsula through Newport Heights, to Dover Shores, and the Back Bay communities. In that stretch of coastline you can find world class dining and shopping; spectacular golf courses; yachting, sailing, and paddling clubs; adorable little beach bungalows as well as huge, grand homes with panoramic ocean views. The history of the city and its origins sits side by side with signs of progress and change. We can even boast of an island that isn’t accessible by car, a working car ferry between the Peninsula and Balboa Island, and the only elementary school in the continental US that is ON the beach!
What brings all of this together is the sense of community we have and the people who make up that community. Through the stories told on The Faces of Newport Beach platform, I aim to shed light on the amazing individuals who live here and who make Newport Beach such an awesome place to call home.
